Police tell NewsChannel 13 two men in a green pick-up truck tried to sell the victim on driveway repairs - even putting down asphalt without the homeowner's permission. When he came outside to speak to one of the suspects, another got into his home and stole money.

This follows distraction burglaries in Colonie, Slingerlands and North Greenbush where the would-be thieves showed up in a white SUV and pretended to be from a local utility.

Police are warning homeowners to be alert.
