DMV making changes to registration documents after Schoharie crash

The Department of Motor Vehicles is amending required registration documents on the heels of the tragedy in Schoharie.

The public started using the new form on Wednesday after several law changes went into effect as part of Governor Andrew Cuomo's efforts to strengthen limousine safety.

If you're filling out a "vehicle registration" form, you'll notice in section 4 that it now includes a box for "adult seating capacity," including the driver.

There are also new questions to identify altered motor vehicles that violate federal safety requirements.

The trial for the business operator of the limousine company involved in the deadly crash is scheduled for next spring.
