MENANDS - There's a push underway to inspire more people to donate organs, eyes, and tissues.
Groups across the Capital Region are raising "Donate Life" flags. One was put up in Menands on Tuesday.
The goal aims to highlight the need and importance of organ donations.
More than 9,000 New Yorkers are waiting for a lifesaving transplant.
The pandemic has made things difficult, but the Capital Region is bucking the trend.
The "Donate Life" flag was first introduced in 2006. Since then, it has become a symbol of unity, remembrance, and hope.
