Donnelly beats incumbent Abelove in Rensselaer County D.A. race

One of the closest local races was for Rensselaer County district attorney.

Republican incumbent Joel Abelove was challenged by Democrat Mary Pat Donnelly. Donnelly was the winner.

Back in June, a state Supreme Court dismissed a case against Abelove.

He was accused of mishandling the investigation into the police shooting death of Edson Thevenin and then lying to a grand jury.
