The driver of one of the vehicles involved in a crash Monday in Niskayuna has died. Khuram Hussain, 40, of Latham was taken to Ellis Hospital after the collision on Rosendale Road. Police say he later died from his injuries.

The other driver involved, 65-year-old Dale VanBuren of Colonie, was treated at the scene. He refused transport to the hospital.

Police say Hussain's 2008 Toyota Prius veered into the other lane and sideswiped VanBuren's 1999 Ford Mustang.

The Mustang wound up hitting a fire hydrant and a utility pole. The Prius went off the road and hit a tree.

Police say drugs and alcohol do not appear to be involved. They also say speed was not a factor in the crash.
