Hudson police are announcing drug arrests connected to a series of shootings that plagued the city over the summer.

Police say they were seven shootings since the violence began -- the result of rival factions fighting each other. One man was killed in the gun violence and two kids were injured.

Hudson Police, New York State Police and the Columbia County District Attorney's Office all came together to announce four arrests as part of their long-term and very concentrated crackdown on those two rival gangs.

Investigators say the root of their criminal network was Hudson's cocaine and crack cocaine drug sales. They called this enforcement effort "Operation Falling Stars."

The four people arrested are Archie Evans, Steven Richardson, William Morrison and Julan Morrison. All four were arrested on Monday and police say all four were major players and all members of one faction. They are now facing federal drug charges.

Investigators say the group was dealing more than at least one kilogram of powdered cocaine every week. One kilogram might go for about $30,000 before you break it up.

Police also say the ringleader, Bryce Hallback, is still at large. They say she should be considered armed and dangerous.
