DUANESBURG - State police are asking for the public's help after they say a graveyard in Duanesburg was vandalized with spray paint this week.

State police say they are still investigating vandalism done to more than a dozen tombstones at the Duanesburg Cemetery this week. The cemetery is located just behind the fire department.

The damaged stones were noticed on Wednesday, when someone visiting called the Duanesburg town historian, Mr. Howard Olhous.

State police were then notified and are investigating the incident.

The historical society says more than a dozen granite and marble tombstones were damaged, leaving many of the stones covered in blue spray paint.

Despite the damage, the historical society says they received some good news on Friday - a memorial cleaner has offered to clean the stones for the families.

State police are asking anyone with information to please call them.
