Duncan Hines cake mix recalled over Salmonella fears

CHICAGO, IL – The Food and Drug Administration has issued a recall of several varieties of Duncan Hines cake mix after tests revealed salmonella.

The findings have been linked to an outbreak of the virus.

The cake mixes being recalled are Classic White, Classic Butter Golden, Signature Confetti, and Classic Yellow.

Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. 

The cake mixes being recalled were manufactured between March Seventh and 13.
