Earth Day bicycle ride encourages outdoor fun

ALBANY - The annual Earth Day Bicycle Ride was held Sunday morning.

The ride started at the Washington Park Lakehouse and moved throughout the city. It consisted of a nine mile loop passing through notable locations like Lincoln Park and Buckingham Pond.

Riders took advantage of the BikeAlbanyMap. The free, interactive software enables riders to safely reach their destinations.

Organizers hope the event encourages others to go outdoor more.
