CATSKILL - Environmental groups are pushing back against a New Hampshire company's proposal to create an incinerator ash dump in the town of Catskill.
Wheelabrator Technologies is applying for the required permits from the state Department of Environmental Conservation.
Environmentalists say about 450,000 tons of ash would be trucked from three company-owned incinerators in New York to a defunct quarry located less than a half-mile from the Hudson River.
Company officials say the dump will not hurt the environment.
