Amsterdam man arrested after police chase

An Amsterdam man was sent to the Montgomery County Jail after a police chase.

State troopers tried to pull over Eric Sumpter on Tuesday for a traffic violation.

Police say Sumpter didn't stop, lost control and hit a snowbank. He then took off on foot, trying to break a window and get into a house.

After a struggle, Sumpter was taken into custody on multiple charges.
