The problem of escaped bison continues for some local farmers and now federal agencies are getting involved. State police say the bison escaped from a farm in the town of Sharon, in Schoharie County.
The Proper family says they found 80 to 100 bison on their Honey Hill Farm in Roseboom, Otsego County last week, doing a lot of damage.
Frank Proper said three-quarters of their round hay bales are gone.
New York State Assemblyman Chris Tague spoke to the state agriculture commissioner Tuesday and NewsChannel 13 is told a number of federal agencies, including the USDA and the Federal Wildlife Association are working on this difficult and possibly dangerous situation.
The Propers say they saw 15 to 20 bison again on their property Monday night. They want to see the bison corralled and removed before someone gets hurt.
