Judge orders euthanasia for Schenectady dogs who mauled child

A judge in Schenectady has ordered euthanasia for dogs who mauled a child earlier this month.

A 3-year-old girl, Charley Pierce, was attacked. She suffered leg and facial injuries.

Relatives say the animals literally ripped the skin off the child's leg, and that Charley also has extensive muscle and nerve damage.

The girl's uncle, 28-year-old Salvatore DiNovo, is now facing a number of charges for dangerous and unlicensed dogs. He's due back in court on June 24.
