Bethlehem police: Fake workmen stole cash from homeowner

SLINGERLANDS - First on 13, there has been another distraction burglary in the Capital Region - this time in Slingerlands. It happened off Blessing Road.

Police tell NewsChannel 13 a person showed up and told the homeowner they needed to check the "lines" in the back of their property.

While the homeowner was with them, one of the suspects used a two-way radio to communicate with another, who went into the house. When the homeowner went back inside, she noticed money stolen from her purse.

Last month, two homes were hit in North Greenbush using a similar scheme.
