Colonie police want to hear from anyone who witnessed a deadly crash on Central Avenue early Christmas morning.

The accident happened around 7 a.m. Wednesday in front of 2141 Central Avenue.

Police say a car traveling in the eastbound lanes with four people inside crossed into the westbound lanes and then slammed into a utility pole. The car was split in half.

Three men and one woman were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Lakhraj Premnauth, 24, of Schenectady, a passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The remaining three people in the car were taken to Albany Med.

There is no word yet on a cause, but police believe that speed was a factor.
