Federal judge rejects request for NXIVM mistrial

A federal judge rejected NXIVM co-founder Keith Raniere's request for a mistrial.

The defense filed the motion Wednesday night. Early Thursday morning, a judge denied it.

The Times Union is reporting it's due to the judge's decision to cut short a cross-examination of key prosecution witness Lauren Salzman on Thursday.

Raniere has pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking charges.
