Work crews demolishing Albany home damaged by fire

ALBANY - Demolition was getting underway Friday at 294 Sheridan Avenue in Albany.

More than a dozen people, including at least nine children, had to be evacuated after a fire there early Thursday morning.

Flames were shooting out of the roof when firefighters arrived.

The Red Cross is helping a family of six people that was evacuated on the first floor.
