Vacant Schenectady home to be torn down after fire

SCHENECTADY - The vacant Schenectady home damaged by an early Tuesday morning fire will be demolished on Wednesday.

The fire broke out just before 2 a.m. at the home on Victory Avenue.

The owners of the home say it was being renovated and no one was living there at the time.

The flames spread to the attic and the second floor.

Police had to block of part of Victory and State Street for hours.

No one was hurt.
