SCHENECTADY - Residents and pets escaped injuries from a burning home in Schenectady.

Firefighters were called out to 1270 Webster Street at about 10 a.m. Friday morning. Once on scene, they could see fire coming from the top floor and roof.

Five people and about a dozen animals were home at the time. Everyone got out safely.

The Red Cross was on scene to help.

The cause is under investigation, but no foul play is suspected.
