Flu shuts down Niskayuna elementary school

NISKAYUNA - Flu season is hitting hard in the Capital Region - and forced an elementary school to close on Friday.

Many of the more than 300 students and teachers at Birchwood Elementary in Niskayuna are sick.


The district made the decision to close Birchwood due to the significant number of absences and confirmed flu cases.

The school is taking the day to do some deep cleaning of the classrooms.
