Fried Stuffed Zucchini Flowers

Four large zucchini flowers

One cup of ricotta cheese

4 ounces of shrimp

1 teaspoon of fresh chopped basil

2 teaspoons of Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon of chopped sun-dried tomatoes

Salt and pepper to taste.


Lightly sauté the shrimp until cooked, and place in a bowl. Once shrimp or cooled off combine all of the ingredients together. Mix all together to make a smooth stuffing. With a teaspoon spoon the cheese and shrimp stuffing into the cavity of the zucchini flower forming a natural pouch. Prepare a simple beer batter using your favorite beer, eggs, flour, salt and pepper, and chopped fresh basil. Using a thick deep pot preheat your oil to 325°. Once oil is hot gently dip the stuffed zucchini flowers into the batter, and gently float them into the hot oil. Cook the zucchini flowers until Golden brown. Remove from hot oil with a slotted spoon and gently sprinkle salt and pepper, and grated Parmesan cheese on them. Serve with the simple tomato sauce and enjoy.
