Funeral held for trooper who died from 9/11-related illness

GLENS FALLS - A funeral service was held Friday for a retired state trooper.

Trooper Charles Salaway died last Saturday from an illness he developed after working at the World Trade Center site following 9/11.

The service was held at United Methodist Church in Glens Falls.

Trooper Salaway served with the New York State Police for 27 years and he retired last October due to his illness.

He leaves behind a wife, five children, his mother, brother and sister.
