Funeral held for retired New York State Supreme Court justice

Retired New York State Supreme Court Justice Frank Williams was remembered on Tuesday as a witty, fair jurist who respected all who appeared before him.

Judge Williams died last week after battling cancer. His funeral was Tuesday at the Church of St. Peter.

A lifelong Saratogian, Williams was a state Supreme Court judge for 16 years. Before that, he was a Saratoga County Court Judge and an assistant district attorney.

Current County Judge Jim Murphy remembered Williams as a kind and considerate mentor.

Judge Williams was 73 years old.
