Police in Saratoga County are trying to figure out if an accused sex offender has abused more children.

Gary Ryan was arrested last week and charged with abusing a child under the age of 13. That arrest came about because Ryan had contact with a boy in North Carolina.

The charges against Ryan span nearly 15 years. He's accused of getting close to young boys and then molesting them.

Ryan is 47-years-old. A native of Mechanicville, police say he has led something of a double life -- volunteering with youth organizations and sports teams, but also sexually abusing children.

Ryan was arrested last week, accused of repeatedly sexually abusing a Saratoga County boy who was under the age of 13, from 2004 to 2008. That arrest came about after Ryan was arrested for contacting and visiting a 14-year-old boy in North Carolina. Police say Ryan made friends with the child on an online sports trading card website.

When he went to North Carolina to visit the child, his parents became suspicious. They did a search and found he's a registered sex offender. They called police there, who called Saratoga County Sheriff's Investigator Kevin Herrick, who went to work looking for more alleged victims. He's found one so far.

You can hear from a relative of the alleged victim by playing the video of Mark Mulholland's story.
