The message he has, “Burning down your own house solves nothing.”

He says actions by New York City police officers allegedly involved in hitting protesters with their vehicles and forcefully pepper-spraying demonstrators is inexplicable.

The governor also says he is extremely angered by the unnecessary death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

"The real issue is the continuing racism in this country, and it is chronic, and it is endemic, and it is institutional, and it speaks to a collective hypocrisy. We're very good in this country at telling other people how they should live their lives, how they should act, and how we preach high standards, but we still discriminate on the basis of color of skin,” said Governor Cuomo.

The governor also asked the attorney general to review police conduct.
