Gov. Cuomo issues 2021 graduation guidelines

Gov. Cuomo issued guidelines for graduation ceremonies in New York state on Monday.

Outdoor ceremonies:

  • Large-scale outdoor ceremonies of 500 people are limited to 20% of venue capacity, with proof of a recent negative test or vaccination required.
  • Medium-scale outdoor ceremonies (201-500 people), are limited to 33% of venue capacity. Negative test or vaccination required.
  • Small-scale outdoor ceremonies of up to 200 people are limited to 50% of venue capacity. Proof of negative test or vaccination is optional.

Indoor ceremonies:

  • Large-scale indoor ceremonies of over 150 people, are limited to 10% of venue, with proof of recent test or vaccination.
  • Medium scale indoor ceremonies  of 100 to 150 people, 33% capacity, with proof of recent test or vaccination.
  • Small scale indoor ceremonies of up to 100 people, 50% capacity, proof of recent test or vaccination is optional.

For large events, colleges and schools will need to notify their local health department.

Facemasks, social distancing, and contact tracing info are required.
