Greenport couple accused of breaking into home, leaving child in car

LIVINGSTON – A Greenport couple is under arrest, accused of breaking into a home and leaving their 2-year-old child in the car while they allegedly committed the crime.

The incident allegedly happened Tuesday afternoon at a home on Route 9G. The Columbia County Sheriff's Office says Brock Miles and Katherine Hopper left their child behind while they stole several items from the home.

The homeowner returned and found the car in the driveway. The suspects drove off, but were found a short time later.

Both face numerous charges.
