Gubernatorial candidate Cynthia Nixon discusses school funding at Albany stop

ALBANY - We are three weeks from Primary Day in New York. In the race for governor, Cynthia Nixon is challenging Governor Andrew Cuomo.

Nixon was in Albany Thursday, talking about school funding.

Nixon says funding is unfair in many districts across New York because more money goes to wealthy districts.

She also believes treatment of students needs to change. She's calling for an end to suspensions for children in kindergarten through 3rd grade.

Polls show the governor with a big lead over Nixon.

The two will debate next Wednesday at Hofstra University.
