Guilty plea in deadly Washington Park hit-and-run

The man on trial for hitting and killing a woman in Albany's Washington Park last year pleaded guilty on Thursday morning.

Jose Martinez was on parole, out past his curfew and driving with a suspended license when he rear-ended a car at Henry Johnson Boulevard and Central Avenue last February.

Around 4 a.m., he sped off into Washington Park, where he hit and killed 21-year-old Rajine Martinez. The two are not related.

Martinez faces two to six years in state prison when sentenced next month.
