Gutter falls off Schenectady bridge

SCHENECTADY - A small gutter on a bridge fell down in Schenectady. No one was hurt.

It happened in the area of Union Street, Erie Boulevard and North Broadway around 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say the damaged piece handles rainwater off the bridge.

Amtrak is inspecting the damage.

Traffic was diverted around the area for a time. The road has since reopened.

A deputy fire chief says at no time was the bridge in any danger of collapsing.
