Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder is a rare, relapsing autoimmune disorder that causes inflammation in the optic nerve and spinal cord. Getting the right diagnosis and starting treatment as soon as possible is key because attacks in NMOSD can lead to blindness and steal one's ability to walk. People as young as 3 and as old as 90 have been diagnosed.
