September 08, 2018 09:11 AM

Early Saturday morning, the Westmere Fire Department responded to Crossgates Mall for a fire at Spa Mirbeau. The call came in around 4:30 a.m. No one was injured. Guilderland Police said they were clearing the scene around 8:30 a.m.

Mirbeau Hospitality Services CEO Michael Dal Pos says it was a fire at the Mirbeau Spa. “Early this morning, we were notified by Crossgates Mall and responding fire and police officials from Guilderland and Westmere that a fire took place inside of Spa Mirbeau. We’re very fortunate that no guests or staff were in the facility at the time and no one was injured. While we don’t know the extent of the damage, we do know the fire was contained in the laundry area. We have closed the spa at this time. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to our guests. We’ll provide more information as we speak with fire investigators.”
