Iraq, Afghanistan and Vietnam veterans are returning to the battlefield. Instead of the Middle East or Southeast Asia, they're at Saratoga National Historical Park. It's part of a project that's helping them transition back to civilian life.
The battle that turned the tide of the American Revolution was fought at this green pasture in 1777.
Historians are still trying to piece together how the battle played out and archeologists are trying to dig up artifacts that enable the historians to do that.
Who knows battlefield strategy better than American war heroes? That's why these veterans were there on Wednesday.
Hear more about how it helps the veterans transition back to civilian life, and what the National Park Service hopes to learn from the artifacts being dug up on the battlefield, by watching the video of Dan Levy's story.
