Greene County horse owner charged with neglect

DURHAM - A Greene County horse owner has been arrested after two horses were found with extremely long hooves.

This was at a farm in Durham.

The state Department of Environmental Resources say the hooves were about 10 inches long and one of the horses could not stand as a result.

Horses should have their hooves trimmed every six weeks or two months. Investigators estimate these horses hadn't had their feet trimmed for two years.
