Roughly 10 million gallons of sewage spilled into the Hudson River as a result of Monday’s heavy rains. That's according to alerts from state Department of Environmental Conservation.

This comes as the city of Albany learned that it will not be fined for a sewage discharge last week.

Mayor Kathy Sheehan told NewsChannel 13 on Tuesday that the Department of Environmental Conservation said the city will not have to pay for failing to notify the public of a sewage overflow within two hours, as required by state law.
