COLONIE - The steady flow of passengers parading through Albany International Airport Thursday afternoon are part of the swarm before the storm.

"Everybody is getting ready ahead of time," said David Trombly, of Columbia, South Carolina. "I guess the effects are going to hit [Friday] morning or afternoon, so people were battening down the hatches."

Trombly flew into town to attend a family wedding. He's not looking forward to flying home.

"We're looking at anywhere from 39 mph to 79 mph winds," he pointed out. "I could have a tree on top of my house."

Arriving passenger Maureen Danaher grew up in Troy and now lives in Charlotte, North Carolina.

"I feel relieved. It kind of worked out perfectly because I'm here for a cousin's wedding," Danaher said.

A heartwarming wedding over a headache-filled weekend.

"I'm supposed to fly back Monday and I've already switched my flight to an earlier time hoping to beat out the rain, but I may need to switch it again," she feared.

Because of the impending hurricane, the Terlizzi Family from Orange County, New York wasn't able to attend their son Michael's U.S. Marine graduation at Parris Island, South Carolina.

"We were just very, very disappointed and crying a lot," said Mary Jean Terlizzi, "Our heart was so set to see our son."

"It was something that we prepped for and then we couldn't go. It was really upsetting," said Waverley Terlizzi, Michael's sister.

Michael Terlizzi says the name Florence is a name he'll "remember for the rest of my life."
