Jacquie Slater joined the WNYT team in March 2018. She began her on-air career as a reporter for WCTV in Tallahassee, FL. She has also worked for stations in Rhode Island, KTVA in Alaska and her home state of Connecticut where she worked for WTNH News 8.

In Connecticut, Jacquie covered the Sandy Hook school shooting and led her station’s coverage of the ongoing opioid crisis. In Alaska, she spent two weeks on the road covering the wildfire outbreak in the summer of 2015. She loves that her job allows her to meet new people every day and is honored when they trust her to share their stories.

Before venturing into the news, business Jacquie worked in the interior design industry for several years as a designer for Ethan Allen and Lillian August. She also worked in restaurant management and at one point owned an inn in Chester, VT. Feeling like life was pulling her in a different direction, she attended the Connecticut School of Broadcasting and found her true calling.

Jacquie is the proud mother of four -- three boys and one girl -- and lives in Saratoga Springs with her husband, kiddos and their dog, Elliott.

A little something extra to know, Jacquie has dabbled in the stand-up comedy world and has performed at Caroline’s, Stand-Up NY and Dangerfield’s in NYC.
