Police say when they tried to detain Griffen near North Manning Boulevard and Livingston Avenue for a traffic violation, he tried to get away.

Police tell NewsChannel 13 Griffen's front tire knocked over one of the officers on the scene - and that he hit his head on his cruiser. The bike then hit the car door - causing thousands of dollars of damage.
