Troy man charged in connection with Albany shooting

ALBANY - A Troy man is charged in connection with a weekend shooting in Albany.

Police say 23-year-old Jeffrey Walker shot a 29-year-old man in the torso while robbing him on Clinton Avenue early Sunday morning.

Walker is charged with attempted murder, robbery and criminal possession of a weapon. He was sent to Albany County Jail.

The victim is expected to survive.

Walker was arrested one month ago in Watervliet. A chase in Troy ended with a standoff at Fenimore Trace Apartments.

At that time, Walker was already wanted for felony criminal mischief and a bench warrant.

After the standoff, he was additionally charged with reckless endangerment.
