Emmy winner and 8-time nominee Jerry Gretzinger joined the team at NewsChannel 13 in September 2017 and anchors Live at 4 with Benita Zahn and Live at 5:30 with Elaine Houston.

In 2018, Jerry developed the concept for #ColdCase13, a regular segment profiling unsolved murders and disappearances from around the Capital Region.  He understands how important it is that people not forget about cold cases.  Jerry has a cousin who vanished in 2001 who has not been seen or heard from since.

Viewers have come to know Jerry for his conversational style of storytelling and positive news reports.  The Upside, also a regular series on WNYT, tells stories that are heartwarming, inspiring or just bring a smile to your face.

#ColdCase13 and The Upside have been recognized by the New York Chapter of The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, New York State Broadcasters Association and New York State Associated Press Association. If you have a story you’d like to share with Jerry, contact him at jgretzinger@wnyt.com or coldcase13@wnyt.com.

Jerry grew up in Kingston, New York (the first Capital of New York State) and received his Bachelor of Arts from Marist College. He lives in Saratoga County with his wife Erin and their five children. He enjoys running, tennis, coaching youth basketball, cooking and baking, DIY projects, cruising and attending and participating in theater. When he's not on the air, Jerry can often be spotted performing in one of his Frank Sinatra or Rat Pack revues or alongside Benita Zahn in one of their 'Singing Anchors' productions.

Jerry was a longtime anchor and reporter for WRGB in Schenectady before joining WNYT. Prior to his years in upstate New York, he worked throughout the Northeast and traveled the world as a reporter to bring the news home.
