GREENVILLE - He wandered through Africa as a child refugee. Now one of the Lost Boys of Sudan is sharing his story with students in Greenville.
John Dau was born in the war torn African country. His village was attacked and he was separated from his family when he was a child.
He stayed in a refugee camp in Ethiopia until a civil war forced him out.
As one of thousands of Lost Boys of Sudan, he wandered hundreds of miles until arriving in Kenya.
As a gift to Dau, students made 1,000 footprints to symbolize the steps Dau took as a little boy. Each one has an inspirational quote on it that the students learned about from his book.
