Man accused of having gun in carry-on luggage at Albany International Airport

A Vermont man is under arrest, accused of having a gun in his carry-on luggage at Albany International Airport.

John Mallard is charged with fourth-degree weapons possession.

A TSA officer found the Smith & Wesson .380 handgun as it went through security Sunday morning.

Mallard is now out on bail and due in court January 10.

Investigators say he does not have a New York State Pistol Permit.
