There is great news for the Albany Airport firefighter battling sepsis. Josh Woodward will be going home from the hospital soon.

His wife Chelsea said in a Facebook post Monday morning that his kidneys now work. He has been taken off dialysis and will be discharged this week.

However, he still had a procedure planned for Monday afternoon.

It's been a tough road for Woodward since he was hospitalized last month for a pain in his arm. Doctors had only given him a five percent chance of survival.

Since then, he's overcome the odds, but lost a hand and all 10 toes in the process.
