July 14, 2019 03:06 PM

A Dutchess County man has admitted to keeping live sharks in his home that he put up for sale online.

Joshua Seguine, 38, had been under investigation since 2017, when prosecutors say he was found in Georgia transporting five undersized sharks back to New York – and admitted to having more at home.

They say a search of his home turned up seven live sandbar sharks – which is illegal without a special license, along with two dead leopard sharks, a dead hammerhead shark, and the snout of the endangered smalltooth sawfish.

Sentencing is scheduled for September 12.

The sharks were moved to an aquarium on Coney Island.
