Schenectady man charged with attempted murder after Oneonta stabbing

A Schenectady man is facing attempted murder charges for a stabbing in Oneonta last weekend.

Police were called to a house on Maple Street Friday night, where they found the victim on the couch, with stab wounds to the face, neck, shoulder and arms.

Julian Vancourt-Wells of Schenectady directed police to a kitchen knife that he admitted to stabbing the victim with.

The victim was taken to Fox Hospital in Oneonta, then transferred to Albany Medical Center and was released the next day.

Vancourt-Wells is charged with attempted murder and assault.
