K-9 helps find missing Cohoes woman

COHOES-An Albany County Sheriff's K-9 is being praised for helping to find a woman, who went missing at night. Baxter, the four and a half year old blood hound, helped find the missing Cohoes woman, after she was lost for hours in the dark Saturday night.

Baxter was called in to help the Albany County Sheriff's Office when their K-9 named Turner, needed some relief. Cohoes police say they located Christine Torrey, 59, of Vliet street with help of the Albany County Sheriff's K-9 unit. Baxter, the hardworking hound dog put police in close proximity of the missing woman after hours of searching.

The dog's handler, Jerry Paris says the trail Baxter took to find the woman was heavily covered and lengthy.

Authorities say Torrey, left her home at 7:30 p.m. Saturday without access to a car or cell phone.
