Allen was crossing Mohawk Avenue toward Xtra Mart when she was hit in the eastbound lane. Police say she was wearing dark clothing and trying to cross four lanes of traffic where there is no crosswalk.

The driver of the Jeep was not hurt and is cooperating.

Speed is not believed to be a factor.

Tom Verrigni was working in Pastime Legends Games around 6:30 Wednesday night. The victim was hit just outside the front door.

"It was loud, I honestly thought it was a car that hit another car," said Verrigni. "First thing I see when I walk out the door is just a pair of shoes in the street. Right away, I was like, this is a really bad sign."

An autopsy determined Allen died of blunt force trauma. There's no indication of any charges or tickets for the driver.
