Man who strangled grandmother in Fort Ann gets 15 years to life in prison

The man who admitted to strangling his grandmother last year in Fort Ann, will spend 15 years to life in prison.

Kevin Gonyea was sentenced Friday in Washington County Court.

Gonyea strangled 95-year-old Leona Twiss with a towel in her home.

His wife, Melissa, is expected to be sentenced to between 4 and 14 years in prison. She has pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence and hindering prosecution.
