The federal hearing for a Capital City Rescue Mission Chef Kinimo Ngoran has been adjourned until later this month, according to Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple. Written arguments are due in two weeks.
A hearing was held in Rochester on Monday.
A federal judge is considering whether Ngoran should be deported or granted a more permanent stay in the United States.
NewsChannel 13 has been following this story since Ngoran was detained by ICE officials last week. He has been trying to get legal permanent resident status for more than a decade.
For now, Ngoran remains in federal custody.
