-1 Stick of Butter
-1/2 Cup of Sugar
-1 Tsp Cinnamon
-1/2 Tablespoon Nutmeg
-3 Tablespoons of Vanilla
-1 Homemade Pie Crust or 1 Package of 'Ready to Bake' Pie Crust
Peel and slice apples, place in large mixing bowl. Pour vanilla on top of apples first and mix. Then add in sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and butter and mix thoroughly, breaking the butter up within the mixture as you go. Next, pour mixture into pie crust that has been laid within 9" round pie pan. Lay second pie crust on top and press together edges to join top and bottom crust and form a seal. Either cut small slits using a knife or poke holes using a fork in the top crust. Crack the egg and brush it on top crust creating a glossy appearance.
